Collection: Help with DIY Polycarbonate Project
Feeling Overwhelmed with Your Custom Polycarbonate Project? Let’s Break It Down!
Starting a DIY polycarbonate project can feel like trying to solve a math problem with too many variables. You might even find yourself calling for backup, like asking dad for advice—only to hear him say he counts cows by their legs and divides by four! Not exactly the help you need, right? We understand that figuring out how many polycarbonate panels, bar caps, screws, and other essentials you’ll need can be a bit tricky.
Here’s the good news: starting with the right size of polycarbonate panels can actually save you money! Your first step? Choose between 8 ft., 10 ft., or 12 ft. long panels. From there, you can cut (or we can for an extra fee) to maximize the material.
Get Started with a Simple Plan
Begin by sketching out your project. This will help you determine how many sheets of polycarbonate you'll need and what sizes to choose. A clear plan helps you make the most of your panels, so be sure to include all walls and roof sections in your drawing.
A Few Important Tips:
- Remember that polycarbonate sheets are UV coated on one side, so be sure to install with the UV coating on the outside of your structure.
- The channels should be oriented vertically to let condensation drain properly.
- Need longer panels? We can help you special order up to 24 ft. panels! We also offer 6 ft. wide panels if that fits your needs better.
- We offer colored panels:
- Looking for an opaque option? Check out our Opal polycarbonate.
- For those who need more shading, ask about our Bronze polycarbonate panels.
